FUE Hair Transplant

What is Follicular unit extraction hair transplant?

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a most up-to-date hair transplant technique.  Under the leadership and guidance of Dr El Musa, Elite Center is the first such clinic in Jordan to acquire the FUE robotic automated machine needed for this type of procedure.

Who is eligible?

All those suffering from baldness or balding spots now have several options to choose from.
The strip excision procedure is less expensive as larger numbers of grafts or hairs are moved to the balding spots; however, it requires a longer healing time.

The FUE procedure is much less invasive with no visible linear scarring, but instead tiny scars that are virtually invisible.  This alternative is more time consuming and more expensive, however.

What does the procedure entail?

The FUE procedure involves the one-by-one extraction of follicular units from a patient’s bald resistant donor areas and transplanting them to the balding spots.  This procedure is lengthy and painstaking; Dr El Musa transplants 500-600 follicular units in any one session.
The standard strip excision technique is still more widely popular and involves the surgical removal of a strip of scalp from the patient’s bald resistant area to the donor area which is ultimately stitched.

What is expected during the recovery period?

Once the follicle is extracted, the small hole left behind heals within days.  The FUE procedure patient ends up with hundreds of undetectable small round white scars.
Since sutures are used in the strip method, these are removed 10 days after the surgery; alternatively, dissolvable sutures may be used.
